Base Pad Lounge - The Bed Buddy's quest for search term and SEO optimization
In recent days, our quest here at Spinninfree Productions LLC, has been to further define and clarify what The Bed Buddy is, and where it fits into the vast expanse of search terms, products and SEO keywords on the internet. And as anyone who has had the opportunity to truly intricately and introspectively analyze a product's branding, market position and target market - it goes without saying that it is sometimes much like painstakingly peeling an onion, one layer at a time (and this is a much larger onion than it appears), til you find the inner core of the onion! There is no slicing and dicing, because to do so, you end up with too may unnecessary tears and sobbing and way to many pieces of the onion puzzle to be able to reconstruct it later. It is a painstaking task of taking each layer and peeling it back to expose each and every underlying layer of product features,benefits, uses, peculiarities, limitations, and defining characteristics. And then after finding that core, being able to reconstruct it - not like it was when you first looked upon your creation, but from the inside out and in a discernible terminology receptive to web search engines. No longer can you use just broad brushed terms and generalizations, but you must describe it in the language of the internet, with its scrutinizing terminology, intricacy, rules and regulations and virtual tools. To do anything less, would be to allow your creation to be defined by someone other than you, and to be lost in the abyss of digital 1's and 0's floating at the speed of light around the globe.
Now, you may be saying to yourself - this is much a-doo about a pretty simple thing - because really, its just fleece and foam! But, to you I say - the onion always looks much simpler and smaller when viewed from its exterior, ...... until you dissect it a single layer at a time. I know, your probably saying to yourself, this guy's been huffing onion! I've done no such thing. But I am learning a valuable lesson and hoping to share these words of wisdom to any who may follow. Remember the phrase, the devil is in the details. I would submit, that on the web and doing ecommerce, it's NOT the devil that's in the details, it's your sales that are in the details. This analogy came to mind after many hours of information gathering and realizing that I could not approach, as is sometimes my tendency, sales and marketing on the net in a Texas Chainsaw Massacre methodology. It is not advisable to use a chainsaw on an onion! Because what you end up with is a stinky, sobbing, tearful and outrageously messy experience. Your sales are truly in the details. Now, what I am finding, is that there are probably a couple gajillion (I'm working on a wikipedia definition for this word) bits and pieces of the puzzle which glitter and sparkle in the cyber-world which beckon for your attention, and it is your job as the ultra discerning, internet marketing specialist, to pick and choose the key pieces and place them into your well constructed internet ecommerce money-making machine(my tongue is in my cheek as I type).
The onion analogy applies not only to defining what it is that you intend to communicate in defining your product, it also applies to the quest through the web's seemingly infinite number of products, tools and search engine optimization criteria and terminology which barrage you, all touting the next and newest tricks of the trade and keywords to opening the virtual front door of your newly constructed web store. One finds out quickly that all that glitters, is not gold. And as one, who's attention is occasionally prone to being distracted by shiny gold nuggets along any path, I have to remind myself to continue to peel the onion, however meticulous the process or how large the onion.
Similar to peeling away the layers of The Bed Buddy onion and finding its essence and defining search terminology, so to is the peeling away of the layers of the net's SEO quantification and qualification criteria which stand either in support of or against your websites virtual place in the sun. After each layer is peeled away, we continue to ask ourselves, where does The Bed Buddy fit into the spectrum of smartphone and iphone accessories currently on the market, and how do we either get included in that mass of consumer products, or do we choose to define ourselves and create the niche for which the "niche guru's" speak of when giving advice to entrepreneurs.
To this final question, we have determined, after much peeling, and yes, sometimes tearful and sobbing peeling, that our onion has been peeled to its central core - and we have found our niche! It is the "base pad lounge". And with that, we are now engaged in reconstructing our Bed Buddy onion - to build the ultimate internet, user, SEO,social-media friendly Bed Buddy e-store.
As with any challenge or hurdle in life's procession, we seek the wisdom from the ages, found in the old adage "How do you eat an elephant - one bite at a time!". And so, it is - and shall be - that we here at Spinninfree Productions LLC, with our Bed Buddy, having now found its true definition; base pad lounge; begin our feast of the elephant and begin our dissemination of our search terminology and keyword phrases. "Our mission (insert your name here), (as the tape recorded voice from the show Mission Impossible used to say), "if you choose to accept it" is to embark upon the task of niche-fying(sp?) and meticulously rebuilding The Bed Buddy's SEO'd e-commerce onion. The Bed Buddy, boldly going where no category or niche product has ever gone before - into the unknown, but, hopefully soon to be, well known categorical niche of the "Base Pad Lounge's"!!!
